*REALITY BEYOND THE FACTS*
*(The Difference Between Truth And Fact)*
*đ âJesus said to him, âI am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.ââ* (John 14:6)
If you donât know Jesus, you can never truly grasp truth. Facts may be present, but without Jesus, truth remains elusive. Itâs important to distinguish between facts and truth. Facts are sensory-based information about what exists or has occurred. Truth, on the other hand, is reality beyond the senses. According to the Scriptures, the Word of God is truthâreality: *âSanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truthâ* (John 17:17).
Truth is an affirmation of what God has said about any given condition, situation, or circumstance. Truth is spiritual law. Someone may tell you a âfactâ but not tell you the truth because truth goes beyond facts. Truth delves into motives, revealing the driving forces behind actions.
In a law court, for example, one of the things the justice system looks at is the accusedâs motive, purpose, or intent in committing a crime. However, time and time again, these unreliable systems of criminal justice have misjudged and convicted the wrong people because they deal mainly with facts.
So how can you judge a personâs motive? You have to know his heart. How can you know a manâs heart? Itâs only Godâs Wordâthe truthâthat exposes, sifts, analyses, and judges the very thoughts and purposes of the heart (Hebrews 4:12). Therefore, always subject the facts about any situation to the truth of Godâs Word. Override facts with truths. For example, it doesnât matter the facts resulting from the doctorâs diagnosis concerning your health; the truth is that you have divine life; therefore, divine health is your nature in Christ.
Sickness, disease, and infirmities have no place in your body. Hallelujah! Truth is greater than fact. Live in and by Godâs truth today and every day. Hallelujah!
